Bubble Lounge to Host Benefit for Red Cross
By saunderse @ 9:01 AM :: 261 Views :: 0 Comments :: Local News, Upcoming Events

The Bubble Lounge will host a second annual “Fight the Flames” fundraiser to benefit area victims displaced by single and multi-family house fires. The fundraiser will be held from 5:00pm until close on Monday, December 19, 2011 at The Bubble Lounge, located at 5546 Old Shell Road, next to Papa John’s Pizza.

An entertaining line-up of bands and acoustic acts will play throughout the evening and a raffle will be held for prizes donated by area businesses. The line-up includes Mob Towne Revival, Josh Ewing of Top of the Orange, Mandown, Bryant Gilley of Shifting Tracks, Matt Mercer, Cockfight, 39 Screams, and Michael Jordan.

There is a $5 cover charge at the door. All of the door money, all of the raffle money, and 25% of sales will be included in The Bubble Lounge’ contribution to the American Red Cross.

The Bubble Lounge was damaged by a fire in April 2010 and spent months rebuilding. Lounge owner Casey Myers contacted the American Red Cross Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter with a desire to help fire victims in the Mobile area recover. The first “Fight the Flames” fundraiser was organized and held last December (2010) and the proceeds generously benefited the local Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter. Myers made the decision to continue this event as an annual fundraising event for the American Red Cross. Join him in his efforts to make a difference in the lives of citizens who need immediate assistance.

The Red Cross depends on the generous support of area residents to respond to our neighbors who are affected by home fires. You can help the Red Cross continue to be ready to respond and help fire victims by making a financial contribution to the Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter today.
